Happy Birthday Bikini! Did you know the bikini was invented by French designer, Louis Reard in 1946. He settled on the name 'bikini' to pay homage to Bikini Atoll, which was the site of the Operation Crossroads nuclear weapon test. Old Louis figured the bikini would make such an impact that it'd be like a-bombing the world with style.
