Bottled Cosmic Choice

Tuesday, July 28th, 2009
dolce-and-gabbana-tarot-card-perfume Designers Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana understand women. It’s not only our bodies and stylistic preferences that this design team so deftly recognizes, but our need to express different facets of our personalities through choice. While some men might classify the varying elements of our personalities as mood swings (You don't know me!), this duo knows better and are offering a set of five fragrances. The scents are inspired and named after French tarot cards: Le Bateleur (the Juggler), La Lune (the Moon), La Roue de Fortune (the Wheel of Fortune), L’Imperatrice (the Empress), and L’Amoureux (the Lovers). With notes ranging from floral to spicy, these perfumes are sure to allow us to morph from our daily selves to prim and proper or even slutty sultry with just a single spritz.

We Still Heart Colin

Tuesday, July 28th, 2009
colin-munroe-sobs1 Fresh from tour with Wale and with his debut album, Don’t Think Less of Me, on the way (it drops this Fall!), Colin Munroe will be playing his first headliner show in NYC tomorrow night (July 28) at the famous SOB's. You know we’ll be up in the spot! We caught up with our past We Heart… guy to see what he’s been up to and to find out how much he’s been missing us. Click more for interview.
Colin Munroe with The Kickdrums, Diz Gibran, Nyle, MeLo-X and DJ GetLive. Wednesday July 28. SOB’s 204 Varrick Street. Doors at 8pm. Show at 9pm. Flyer below. See you tomorrow!
Have you missed the hearty girls since your interview? The hearty girls are a unique bunch. They keep in touch...and harass me all the time on Twitter! What are you up to these days? I have semi permanently re-located to NYC this summer. In the past I've only been able to be here for a few days at a time and its just not the same as being able to live here. How were the opening acts selected for your show in NYC? Honestly, it was kinda put together patchwork style! The KickDrums were looking to do their first NYC show and they do kind of a hybrid thing as well, so it made sense musically to try it out. The other guys jumped on to make it a celebration of the 1st year anniversary of homebase. Who have you been in the studio with? Ha ha. That's almost a trick question cause these days most collaborations happen over the internet without people actually being in the same studio. That's how I did the record with Bun B, Talib and others… Ha. Ok, ok. Who have you been working with (over the net)? Bun b, Talib Kweli, Asher Roth, Nottz, Melanie Fiona. Though she was in person actually cause we happened to be in Toronto at the same time. What's coming up next for you? I have to do a festival in Germany in August then back to NYC for more building towards album release time. And hopefully seeing some hearty girls too!

Yoshi’s a Winner!

Tuesday, July 28th, 2009
Our girl Yoshi has been on a heavy campaign to win the job of covering the TwiCon event in Dallas for ReelzChannel. Being an obsessively proud Twilight fan (Peep WhatTheForks?! for more info) this competition was an important one. And the votes are in...Yoshi is going to TwiCon! A big hearty congratualtions! Go get 'em in Dallas girl.

Scarabs and Crystals

Tuesday, July 28th, 2009
christopherkaneatelierswarovski03 Having recently based designs on a gorilla safari, Christopher Kane has now pursued a divine ancient Egyptian insect to use in his most recent Atelier Swarovski Collection. A sacred symbol said to bring good fortune, the Scarab Beetle, has found itself surrounded by gunmetal filigrees and thick cuts of Swarovski crystals in Kane's new pieces. From clutches to drop earrings each item in this collection has at least one real Scarab (they don't bite) at the center, making every piece unique. Take a look at Atelier Swarovski to learn more about the collections and designers behind them. christopherkaneatelierswarovski

APC Autumn/Winter 10

Tuesday, July 28th, 2009
picture-71 Looks like plaid is not out. APC drops their Autumn/Winter 10 Collection featuring tons of the popular motif. Other APC supported looks for the colder seasons ahead include open toed shoes with socks, layering different patterns, overalls and (seemingly) bare legs. Make sure you're going to bundle up enough though!

Levi’s Criminal Behavior

Monday, July 27th, 2009
levis-1 Okay, maybe they're not promoting criminal behavior, but the American brand was inspired by those steal bars and the criminals behind them for the Autumn look (book). Since stripes are the 2009 staple, we have no objections. levis-2
