colette x Moon Boots

Wednesday, September 29th, 2010

Remember Moon Boots? Well, collete does, and has collaborated with the 40-year-old company on a pair of boots. colette has added their touch to the boot, using blue laces and covering the huge sole in their trademark blue dots. There are only 70 of the colette x Moon Boot available, but colette has also stocked up on the Moon Boot fall/winter collection. Even though these boots won't take you to the moon, they will keep your feet warm (okay, you've heard that one before).

Eligible Bachelors?

Tuesday, September 28th, 2010
"There is an unhealthy ratio of datable men to datable women in New York (or whatever city)." We've heard this complaint drunkenly slurred over and over. Even if this is true or not--we think that women need to troll up to Queens and open their eyes--it's still a stereotypical urban myth that dangles above the heads of most single women. That and, the whole "Is he gay?" hurdle that more recently, thanks to the metrosexual trend, has become an issue. Really rubbing it in, Refinery29 compiled a list of 26 of Fashion's Most Eligible Bachelors just to remind their single, straight female readers that yes, these so-called great catches are, for the most part, way to into fashion, possibly gay and probably not reachable (not that we're sure we want them). Check out the list here and let us know which of these men you would want to date?

Tepee Workshop!

Tuesday, September 28th, 2010
Erica Chan of Honestly...WTF?!'s mother-in-law, "lived on a mesa in Telluride, Colorado in the late 70's, making tepees and moccasins," and Erica's husband was actually raised in a tepee the first two years of his life! 30 years later, Erica's mother-in-law (who is an architect) built a 24-foot tepee (think of it as a guest house) on 60 acres of land. All of this gave Erica and her Honestly...WTF?! partner, Lauren Kolodny, the idea of teaching people how to make their own tepees. So on October 8, they will be hosting a three day tepee workshop in the Sierras of Northern California. Erica says, "I've sewn and erected a few tepees before and it is a wonderful experience!" Even though most of us won't be able to make it to the workshop (it's in California and has a limit of 8 people) we can't wait to see the pictures Erica has promised us will be on her blog.

Rockaway Taco

Tuesday, September 28th, 2010
"We're hear to feed them, that's what we show up in the morning for," Andrew Field of Rockaway Tacos says. If you've ever been out to Far Rockaway, to surf or just catch a bit of sun, then you've heard of Rockaway Taco. The Selby, captured Andrew Field's life in, Rockaway Taco, a beautiful film directed by The Selby and produced by Lauren Sherman. Andrew lives a life of food and surf--he sleeps on the roof and even has his own bee hives. "I try and do coffee with the bees. I try every day." We often get caught up with the speed of our lives and the speed of the city. Andrew Field is a good example to take note of to help slow our lives down, and as cheesy as it sounds, appreciate the little things in life.

Tattoo You!

Tuesday, September 28th, 2010
House of Dereon and Betsey Johnson Temporary Tattoos Most people we know have, you know, real tattoos, but that doesn't mean you can't play around here and there. Plus, we think your parents may approve of these ones a little more than that stick and poke on your arm. While, Chanel, didn't necessarily start the trend--I mean, we've been wearing temporary tattoos since we were kids--they definitely invigorated something in the fashion community. Betsey Johnson and House of Dereon (in collaboration with Temptu) have both created temporary tattoos for you to cover your shoulders, backs and wrists in. However, we still like to think the dollar store variety we bought as kids work just as well.

Barbara Streisand Video

Tuesday, September 28th, 2010

With tons of cameos from the music community, Duck Sauce (aka the duo of A-Trak and Armand Van Helden) release the video for their second single "Barbara Streisand."  The video, like the song, is upbeat and pretty hilarious, and they definitely called in some heavy favors for the cameos. Watch the video below to see who you recognize. Sleeve art designed by Dust La Rock. .
