We'd like to send out a hearty (gawd, we could use that as an adjective for days) welcome to our new bloggers! New on the site is: Lo from the band HEARTSREVOLUTION, you may also recognize her form her pink HEARTSCHALLENGER ice cream truck. Kaity Velez, who is the Editor-in-Chief of Antenna Magazine and loves to eat. She will be the official hearty foodie (hearty like stew, right?). And photographer, Zyanna O'Connell. From using vintage cameras to emerging photographers to photos she likes, Ziz will be talking about all things photo on her blog. Check out their blogs and be sure to keep checking back.
Annabelle + Andre for Illesteva We're not sure if we want to barf or "Aw" at the idea of "love collaborations." Just sometimes too much "cute," can bring out the best, er, worst, er, guess it depends which way you look at it, in us. However, these glasses look nice and are in honor of Valentine's Day--a day made of hearts, so we can't have too much dislike in our own hearts. To celebrate their love and V Day, Andre Saraiva and Annabelle Dexter-Jones, created a limited edition pair of glasses for Illesteva. Made in France (the country of l-o-v-e), the acetate glasses have "Annabelle + Andre" inscribed in Andre's handwriting on the side of the glasses. But because of the limited edition production, only 80 people will truly be able to fall in love with these glasses. Via: Refinery29
Mac de Marco and Alex Calder are the Edmonton-born swooners behind the band Makeout Videotape. Since their self-released LP nearly two years ago, these two young men have toured North America with Japandroids, Walter TV and on their own two stinky feet. Calder and de Marco make catchy lo-fi lounge music lyrically charged with love and perversion. The latest Makeout Videotape video for their single, "Only You" off the album Ying Yang, features the two boys (and a few of their naked friends) playing domestication. Cinematography by Evan Prosofsky. Video concept by the little troll Mac de Marco himself. Check it out above and for more Makeout Videotape, click here.
