My Blog__ Fashion Smashion Part I

Rachel Comey, Fall 2010 show.

Fashion Week has taken over Manhattan and I was lucky enough to get to check out some of the shows and parties. About 30,000 tubes of lipstick are used and 700,000 glasses of champagne are consumed during fashion week--surprisingly I'm not responsible for drinking or using all of them.

First off, was Rachel Comey. NYC band, Hex Message, provided the perfect live soundtrack and Rachel Comey used lighting really well--spotlights were strategically placed throughout the catwalk so as the models walked they were lit up at different places on the runway (you can kind of see the effect in the picture above). There are a couple jackets I would definitely like to get my hands on. See my favorite looks from the show here.

My friend Max Stein was having a private showing of his new bag line. Love you Max!

I then popped around the corner to see one of my favorite jewelery designers and ladies in NY, Bijules. She had a showing/party on Bowery to celebrate her F/W 2010 line Scream and Spirit.

Bijules covered the walls in photos, which you could swipe and take home. Jules' reason, We're downtown and that's what we're probably going to do down here anyways, steal.

More Fashion Smashion to come.
