Complex Procedure, 2010 (installation view), oil on canvas, 72 x 60 inches

Last night I went to the Nicholas Metivier Gallery to see an opening that included paintings by my dear, dear friend, Rachel MacFarlane. Her paintings are awesome and I use the word, "awesome" because I don't really know that much about art. This is probably what happens when you stare at a TV screen more than you stare at art...but hey! I like art! And I like TV! Rachel sometimes teaches me things about art, for example I know who Egon Schiele is because she's got a sweet tattoo of his work on her back. Sometimes she is too sophisticated, however, and she needs me to explain things like the merits of watching Jersey Shore. We all bring something to the table.

If you're in Toronto, stop by the gallery at 451 King West and scope out the scene!
