Featured__ Shampoo Is For More Than Just Washing Your Hair

July 27, 2015 | By

When you think about it, shampoo is basically just soap. So it makes sense that you can use it for a lot more than just washing your hair. And why not cut down on the products in your house by using the ones you already have (like shampoo?).

Here are six things you can use shampoo for besides washing your hair:

Washing The Dishes

Seriously. Not only can shampoo double as a dish detergent, it’s also much more gentle on your hands, so they won’t get as dry when you wash the dishes.

Cleaning Your Makeup Brushes

When’s the last time you actually cleaned your makeup brushes? You always have shampoo on hand, so you really have no excuse not to. You can also use shampoo to clean your hairbrush. Just mix some shampoo with warm water and let your makeup and hair brushes soak for 10 to 15 minutes, then dry.

Washing Delicate Clothes

Those hand-wash only products can be pretty expensive, so you want to make sure you’re taking good care of them. Shampoo is a gentle and effective way to wash your delicates. Use it just like you would detergent, then rinse.

Giving Yourself A Mani/Pedi

Soaking your hands and feet in a combination of warm water and shampoo will leave them feeling soft and clean, and will also clean your cuticles. Do this before you paint your nails for a spa-like feel.

Stop Mirror Fog

We can’t be the only ones annoyed by a foggy bathroom mirror. Pour a little bit of shampoo on a paper towel, rub into your bathroom mirror, use a clean towel to wipe it off and enjoy a fog-free shower.

Wash Your Body

You may have already tried this one, but if you haven’t, it can really be a lifesaver. Whether you forgot you were out of body wash or didn’t pack it when you left for vacation, shampoo works just a well.
