If leggings aren’t your go-to when you want to be lazy chic (which — let’s be real — is pretty much always), it’s time to make the switch. We get that leggings have a bad stigma around them — cheaper pairs tend to be see through and they’re definitely not a replacement for your favorite dark wash jeans. But we've found some ways you can take your leggings from the gym to the streets.

Layer It Up
The easiest way to make leggings work is with lots of layers. Ideally your longest layer should hit around mid-thigh and your top layer should be a few inches shorter. We love Gigi Hadid’s button-down and chunky turtleneck combo. Pair with heeled booties if you want to dress it up.

Sweaters Sweaters Sweaters
When it comes to making leggings work outside the gym, sweaters are a girl’s best friend. Keep it casual by matching your favorite sporty leggings with a cable-knit sweater and some simple slip-on shoes.

The Gym Look
This is the perfect look if you’re coming from the gym. The Nikes and oversized t-shirt gives off a cool girl vibe and the hat will do wonders for your sweaty post-workout hair.

Black on Black
Swap out your high-waisted jeans for some high-rise leggings. Add a crop top and a leather jacket and you’re good to go! Throw your hair up into a high pony to give this look a more laid-back feel.

Flowing and Free
Try wearing your favorite leggings and a plain tank with a long, light jacket and open-toed heeled booties for a look that looks put-together but is actually super easy.
