Get Fed__ Eat This For Great Hair

What you put in your body is extremely important, not just for health, but for everything from preventing acne to healthy teeth and bones. You already know that there are foods you can eat to make your skin glow, but did you know that there are also certain foods that make your hair look healthier? Snack on one of these on your lunch break to keep your hair shiny and strong.

Eggs are rich in biotin, the B vitamin that makes hair and nails healthier. It seems like everyone is taking a biotin supplement these days, but why add extra pills when you can get the same benefits through your diet? Start your day off with some eggs and some trendy avocado toast toast to keep you full for hours and have your hair looking extra healthy.

Leafy greens are awesome for many reasons, including hair health. The folate and iron in spinach prevent hair loss and work with vitamins A and C and beta-carotene to keep your hair moisturized and prevent it from breaking. If you start to get sick of spinach salads, kale is also a great option. 

Not only does fish protect your skin and enhance brainpower, the omega-3 fatty acids in fish like salmon and sardines add lots of shine while also keeping your hair long, healthy and full. Your body can’t make these healthy fats on its own – you have to get them from food or supplements, but preferably food. 

Pretty much any food with healthy fats is going to be great for your hair, and avocado is no exception. It promotes hair growth and helps repair scalp damage. While eating avocado is great for hair, you can also use it as a conditioning hair mask for even more benefits.

Who doesn’t love an excuse to eat cheese? Low-fat cheese (including cottage cheese) is filled with protein and calcium for hair growth and shine. Sprinkle some low-fat mozzarella in your scrambled eggs or make a tortilla cheese pizza to reap these benefits.

Sweet Potato
The beta-carotene in sweet potatoes is converted to Vitamin A once it enters the body, which is super important for all cell growth, including hair. If you’re deficient in vitamin A, you can expect dry, dull hair and skin and maybe even some dandruff. Too much vitamin A isn’t good either, though, so it’s best to get it from foods instead of taking a supplement. This is a great excuse to say yes to sweet potato fries next time you’re grabbing dinner with friends.
