When it comes to making it to the gym more often, there’s really nothing better than a good home gym. It just makes working out much easier. Because well, it's in your house. But with so much equipment to choose from, it can be hard to narrow things down. Here are a few things you should definitely include in your home gym.

Dumbbells
This is pretty much a given. A home gym without a few sets of dumbbells is essentially useless. If you don’t want to shovel out the cash or the space for a bunch of different sets, pick up a set of adjustable dumbbells instead.

Barbell and Weight Plates
Dumbbells are great, but they don’t cover all of your bases. A barbell with some weight plates is great for squats, chest presses, deadlifts and lots of other exercises. Find a sturdy bar and a variety of weights and you’ll be good to go.

Stability Ball
A stability ball is awesome for core strength, balance and even posture. You can use it for lots of workouts, from push-ups to crunches, so it’s a super functional item to include in your home gym.

Jump Rope
A jump rope takes up virtually no space, is easy for pretty much anyone to do and is a great workout. You can pick one up in almost any stores for less than $15. It’s a nice change from the elliptical and definitely makes your cardio a lot less miserable.

Plyo Box
Here’s another awesome way to put a spin on your cardio routine. If you don’t have room for a treadmill for your HIIT sprints, box jumps are the perfect way to get your heart pumping. A plyo box can also be used for squats and bench dips, and you can even build one on your own!
