Happy new year people!  I hope everyone had an amaze-ballz holiday.  I spent most of my holiday back in good old Los Angeles.  And when I’m on my home turf, I have a few choice destinations for coffee times.  I’ll divulge all of my hometown coffee favorites soon enough, but for now I’ll let you in on just one.

Black Cat Bakery is my mid-Wilshire squeeze.  First of all, they have FREE ample parking in the back.  Yes, free ample no bullshit parking.  So you’re not wasting time driving around for 20 minutes looking for a meter, and then digging in your seat cushions for quarters.

And once inside, they have everything from a simple biscotti (which is DELICIOUS) to brunch and lunch entrees, and they serve a good cup of coffee.  My favorite part of Black Cat is their bay window nooks, where you can cozy up on their French rustic pillow cushions and enjoy free wi-fi.  Are you sold yet?

Hey.  It’s me, Sam.  So over the years I’ve planted many blog seeds around the world wide web.  And while I couldn’t resist the invitation to join the roster of Hearty Mag blogger beauties, I wondered WHAT THE HELL AM I GOING TO BLOG ABOUT HERE THAT I HAVEN’T BLOGGERED/TUMBLD/TWEETED/INSTRAGRAMMED.  It dawned on me as my roommate and I were sipping our morning cups of salvation (coffee), that I can blog weekly about my coffee obsession and then something else I like.  I drink my coffee black, so if we want to get metaphorical, we can say that “and then some” is something sweet that serves as a cream and sugar replacement.
