He sees you when you're sleeping.
Chicago's Art Loop 2010 celebration takes place across 9 blocks of State street this July, and what a crazy nine blocks they will be. The event's focal piece, "EYE" by Tony Tasset, is a 30 ft. tall, sculpture of a human eye! The giant, vein-engorged eyeball--that probably knows all your secrets--will be installed in Pritzker Park over the July 4th weekend and come down on Halloween (how fitting). Chicago residents can look forward to a summer of warm weather, clear skies, and Big Brother's cyclops eye glaring over their shoulder 24/7.
Turns out, a huge eye isn't a new concept for Tasset. In 2007 he created a similar piece, 12 feet in diameter, for the Laumeier Sculpture Park in St. Louis. And forever shall it scare the crap out of anyone attempting a picnic there.
