Folds everywhere

The natural color palette of Obakki‘s collection featuring simple shapes, makes us think of summer on a hot, Southern dairy farm (we’re assuming this is why Earth Mother—ahem, Gwyneth Paltrow—loves them so much). The theme of origami carries into the clothes with asymmetrics and sharp folds bringing a punch of modern style to otherwise classic pieces. The preview video, which was shot behind the scenes of Obakki’s s/s ’12 editorial shoot, shows close-up’s of intricately folded origami and a single model posing in a shadowed room. An eerily beautiful piano piece by Eric Satie speaks perfectly to this collection and makes us want every single piece. Why would we bother with cranes?
