Barbie gets all art snob on us

Obviously roller skating, horse back riding, nursing, snowboarding, surfing, dancing and teaching are just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to the realm of possibilities Barbie can conquer. Paying homage to some of the world's greatest artists, Mattel recently unleashed a new line of Barbies. The three latest Barbies are modeled after Da Vinci's Mona Lisa, Van Gogh's Starry Night and Klimt's portrait of Adele Bloch-Bauer. The dolls' hair and clothes have been designed to mirror the iconic artwork in a fun, non-threatening, "Barbie" manner.

Since the 1950's Mattel has been creating dolls for every career, event, sport, hobby and lifestyle a girl in North America could dream up (remember when they made "Wheelchair Becky") and now they are sending Barbie to the museum. Obviously this is the kind of toy you keep in the box, look at and never play with.
