News__ Chambray You! Chambray Me!

Bodkin Nimbus Tunic and See by Chloe Chambray Princess Jacket

Rarely is the term “work shirt” synonymous with high fashion, but the Chambray trend is proving that to be false. Known formally as “chambric,” the light weight, weathered blue plain weave cotton cloth is making a stylish deviation from it’s 1800's origins as the American work wear uniform for farmers and goldminers. The light indigo blue fabric has resurfaced this summer as a favorite with designers--everyone from French Fashion house Chloe to American cool kid Alexander Wang.

Simple and classic, this trend is easy to integrate in your summer wardrobe, our favorite example being a laidback, slightly oversized Chambray button down (but you can also get yourself some chambray bottoms). Nab one for breezy summer eves from your boyfriend. Or better yet, he can borrow yours!
