Charlotte Gainsbourg to release both an EP and LP this fall
Charlotte Gainsbourg is taking over autumn 2011, by releasing an EP on September 6th and a double LP only two months later, on November 8th.
The first of the releases is Terrible Angels EP, a collection of songs written by Beck, Jarvis Cocker and her dad, Serge Gainsbourg. You can check out the video for the title track here. It's a synth-pop beat with an army of leather-jacketed Charlotte lookalikes doing synchronized field goal dances in an underground parking garage.
The second is the LP titled Stage Whisper, which will feature both live and unreleased recordings. It will include a DVD of a road trip in which we imagine Charlotte will look unkempt in an enviable French way. Balenciaga perfume probably mists out of her pores every few minutes like a Glade Plug-In.
Last week, Courrier International offered a preview of the track "White Telephone" from Stage Whisper to its subscribers. For those of us who don't read Parisian news on the regular, you can still listen to the song thanks to Riot Idiot on SoundCloud.
Check out the new song below and let us know what you think. Are you up for an autumn full of Charlotte Gainsbourg or is there someone else you would rather start listening to when the weather gets cooler?
