Derek Lam introduces 10 Crosby, a more affordable line named after his Soho offices

Joining Balmain and Burberry, Derek Lam presents 10 Crosby, a diffusion line named after his Soho offices. The line is said to cater to women between 20-45 (a pretty large gap) and the introductory resort 2012 collection features a wide leg pant, boxy cropped trench and long flowing dresses.

Lots of high-end lines have been creating more "affordable" or "younger" tiers of their brands recently. Maybe to make their styles available to a wider audience or maybe a recession reaction, these collections have been coined diffusion lines, and feature toned down versions of the higher priced goods that are out of our credit card's reach for now. Just be careful to check the price tags, though more affordable, these clothes can still be pricey.
