Dutch jeweler/artist, Felieke van der Leest has a thing for animals. This might have something to do with the fact that she grew up next door to a zoo. Since those childhood days of monkey watching, Felieke has gone on to use those images to inspire her exquisite line of jewelery that tickles the child within all of us. Felieke began her creative career training in metalwork as a goldsmith, but soon became fascinated with knitting and crochet. Her quaint and colorful creations combine these two skills and result in a collection of work that brings animals and fashion together in a PETA-friendly way. Felieke's work has been exhibited all over Europe and North America in such venues as the International Museum of Applied Arts in Turn, the Museum of Decorative Arts in Montreal, the Modern Art Museum in Arnhem, and the Dutch Textile Museum in Tilburg. More of her work can be found here.
