News__ Gorman’s High Summer

November 23, 2011 | By

In the Southern Hemisphere, things are warming up thanks to Gorman

Aussie company Gorman is gearing up for their summertime, as we gear up in rain boots and parkas.“On a faraway island, swaying palm trees fringe the sweeping sand," Designer and founder Lisa Gorman says of her holiday collection. "The Gorman girl is playing backgammon with Carmen Miranda and a pair of cheetahs, sipping a Pimm’s cup, as a glorious sunset paints the sky pink and red.” Cheetahs and Carmen Miranda, you say? Gorman's iconic pop art prints go Brazilian beach carnival for Holiday '12, with XL polka dots, bright stripes, basket weave prints, 60s-inspired florals, and carnival-esque tassels.

Beside the big and bold, Gorman is also known for their commitment and sustainability. Sustainability sometimes ends up with a particular “look” i.e. raw fabrics that, if not natural, come in mellow earthy hues, so it’s extra exciting to see their new holiday collection jumps off the screen.
