German artist Hans-Peter Feldmann is blowing $100,000 at the Guggenheim and leaving empty handed

Instead of using his singles on something as lewd as strippers or vending machine chocolate bars, Hans-Peter Feldmann is making art with them. As the winner of the 2010 Hugo Boss Prize, Feldmann received $100,000. He withdrew his winnings in dollar bills (all 100,000 of it) and is tacking them to the walls of the the Guggenheim. The exhibit will run May 20–November 2, and is meant to show currency as a mass-produced material we use daily. But, don't even think about trying to make a few bucks when you go to see it, extra security guards will be standing by to make sure the dollar bills stay where they are.
