News__ Herschel Supply Co.

| By

We all have a little luggage (read: baggage) in our lives. Luckily, Herschel Supply Co., an emerging bag line based out of Vancouver, Canada, is easing the weight a little.

Lyndon Cormack co-owner of Herschel Supply Co. says, "We need bags for life's luggage." Can we get an Amen? So the two brothers, Lyndon & Jamie, started Herschel Supply Co.--a collection of classically affordable bags that we now want. Backpacks, duffel bags, fanny packs, oh my! This family affair has everything we "need" and a little bit more.

We caught up with Lyndon, to find out why bags, what he always has in his own bag, and what we can expect next from the emerging line. He also sent over some unseen shots of their 2010 collection lookbook. Check it all out below.

1. Why bags?

Both my brother and I who are the Herschel Supply Co. have always been fond of bags, luggage and accessories in general. Everything from Vintage items to Hermes to great little flea market finds. There is nothing better a great bag, whether walking through the streets an airport or pedaling or pushing around town; your bag can define you. We also believe in accessibility, we find that a lot of the desirable bags are too far out of reach for the people that desire them.

2. Where did the name Herschel Supply Co. come from?

Our great grandparents emigrated from Wick, Scotland in the early 1900’s. The land that they were given saw themselves settle in the rolling hills outside the town of Herschel, who’s population today is counted at 30 residents.

4. What can we expect next from Herschel Supply Co.?

More bags, Kids bags, more fabric options, both domestic and overseas production, wallets and luggage.

5. 5 things you always have in your bag?

Gel Pens, Notebook, Camera, Magazines, and now my iPad.

6. Where's your heart at?

I might find myself with fashion on my mind but I have skateboarding, surfing and snowboarding in my heart.

Linda P, just told me of your exciting new collaboration in the luggage business. Neat to see all your products. I told Jordy, and he has been in the golf trade for several yrs. I asked him if he had any ideas of what would make a better golf bag cover for air travel, Would that be a product you might delve into. No money in the golf business, so he is now in real estate. and has sold one house so far. Best of Luck to you both, BARB.
