News__ I Want Muscle
Monroe or Schwarzenegger? Why not a little of both?
In our shallow world, many women struggle with what beauty, femininity and womanhood should be. But, there is no "should." We can be whoever we want to be and look however we want to look. We have the right to. And if you don't agree, Kizzy Vaines might just kick your ass.
In a new short film starring female bodybuilder Vaines, she explores gender stereotypes in a quirky, off-beat way. Director Elisha Smith-Leverock explains, "The idea was to break with traditional ideas of femininity in fashion and play with imagery that is conventionally perceived as glamorous, sexy, soft and feminine to then juxtapose it with displays of pure strength and shots of the grueling pain and discipline that is involved in achieving this type of physique." Dressing Vaines in vintage jewelry, hair, makeup and clothing, the film is an homage to the bodybuilding heydays of the 70s and 80s.
