News__ I.G.G.U ZINE

Whoever said feminism is dead is probably dead now themselves. It's alive, thriving, kicking, screaming and out-smarting people all over the print media and online world. One of our favorite all-female zines, International Girl Gang Underground Zine, is now available in both mediums. I.G.G.U is a collection of female musicians, editors, writers and artists who pen articles about black metal to Babes in Toyland to heavier subjects like gender and revolution to personal exposés. The content is strong, fresh and more importantly, fun to read whether you are a hardcore feminist believer or not. Edited by Brooklyn-based writer and activist Kate Wadkins and San Fransisco Marketing-Associate-by-day-turned-Girls-Rock-Camp-Veteran-by-night Stacy Konkiel, I.G.G.U is the blood, sweat and guts of two very prominent women.

I.G.G.U is celebrating the release of Volume #003 at Death by Audio in Brooklyn March 12th, 2011. This all-ages I.G.G.U event will feature readings from contributors including Slingshot Dakota, Aye Nako and American Sun as well as tabling by For the Birds and Support New York. For more information check out I.G.G.U's website here.
