Bet you didn’t think all the shit you collect in your pockets could be art

Vancouver-based artist, Janice Wu doesn’t like waste. Or, at least she likes to draw it before she throws it out. A student at Emily Carr University, Wu explores “how seemingly worthless objects have potential for whimsy and how the ‘inanimate’, mundane can reveal poetic and narrative possibilities,” she says. Taking every day objects and turning them into beautifully detailed pieces of art using pencil and watercolor paint, Wu really does manage to change the ordinary into something spectacular.
