News__ Larry Clark Brings Tulsa

January 10, 2011 | By

American director and photographer, Larry Clark brings his 16mm black and white film, Tulsa, to New York. Most recently exhibited in Paris at the Musée d’Art Moderne de la Ville de Paris and based on his legendary photobook under the same title, the 1968 masterpiece is a provocative film on drugs, sex and youth in Clark's hometown. Known best for his subcultural hit films, like Kids (1995) and Bully (2001), Clark has always been drawn to the seedy underbelly of teenage life--the reality of underage sex, illegal drugs, violence and theft. The film is playing at the Luhring Augustine Gallery until February 5. For more information visit their website here.
