Leitmotiv's fall/winter '12 lookbook combines quirk with glam

Italian design duo, Leitmotiv, has become a star at Milan Fashion Week with their fairy tale patterns and chic silhouettes. These are not clothes for the faint of heart, but like any good painting, Leitmotiv's designs are spectacular from far away and from close-up.

The fall/winter 2012 collection, titled "The Elegant Universe" conveys star presence with the promise of comfort. Cathedral-inspired patterns are eye-catching but the luxury velvet, leather and silk fabrics were chosen to treat your skin.

On their website, in Italian, Leitmotiv describes the woman who wears their clothes as someone who "likes to live each moment as if life is continually becoming." Ok, so our Italian (i.e. Google translator's Italian) isn't great but we like the next part of the description that says, roughly, "Just as the stars change shape and energy, giving off light and color, always in search of a new identity."
