Mount Eerie, Clear Moon will be officially released tomorrow

Climb up Mount Eerie to see the Clear Moon. One man band Mount Eerie's new album Clear Moon is the first of two albums to be released this year--he'll release Ocean's Roar this fall. The new LP, which will be available tomorrow via P.W. Elverum & Sun, features the Lo-Fi ambient feel Phil Elverum’s been mastering since he was playing in the now defunct band The Microphones. Recorded in Elverum’s church turned recording studio, Clear Moon has an almost ominous hypnotic feeling of solitude and reflectiveness. Elverum’s voice sounds timid and knowing as ever, and in songs like “Through the Trees Pt. 2” where he’s joined by vocalist Allyson Foster and in “Over Dark Water” with Geneviève Castrée, the ambient feel hits a home run and make you feel like laying down somewhere and doing whatever you please.

Mount Eerie’s new album Clear Moon will be officially released tomorrow (May 22), until then you can stream the album on NPR.
