J Dilla in a way that's never been heard

Mike Thies and Topu Lyo, two classically trained, part-time music teachers make up the Brooklyn-based band, Live Footage. Following the release of their album Willow Be, the duo teamed up with Orisue Clothing to make Live Footage Plays Jay Dee, a mixtape that mixes cello, drums, live looping and a lot of J Dilla. This is a new twist on Dilla classics, in a way that's never been heard. Some of our favorite covers of Dilla produced tracks include Erykah Badu's "Didn't Cha Know" and De La Soul's "Stakes is High." Download above in that fancy little widget thingy.
