Louise Burns sings creepy karaoke for her new video “Drop Names Not Bombs”

Ex-teenage pop star, Louise Burns has grown into a beautiful songstress. Last year, we featured her when Mellow Drama (Light Organ Records) her debut solo album was released. It was a bashing burst of pop perfection to the modern world. Today, Burns releases the debut video to her single “Drop Names Not Bombs.” Directed by Catherine Lutes, the video centers around a drunken karaoke party gone spooky featuring Burns’ close pals in her current city of residence Toronto.

Burns says of the video:

“We liked the idea of doing a “fun” video, as in getting our friends drunk and doing karaoke, but also tapping into a darker side; where something feels a bit off, kind of like the little girl in Poltergeist watching static on her TV. In our case, there’s a poltergeist in the karaoke video in the form of me. The contrast between brightness and creepiness unintentionally reflects the song as well, which sounds like a happy pop jam but was actually written from a pretty dark place.”
