Modern mixed with comfort in Nascimento’s spring collection

It’s said the best way to go through life is doing a few things, and doing them exceptionally well. Emerging designer Lucas Nascimento likely subscribes to this kind of motto. The London College of Fashion grad has spent his collections focusing on the sculptural possibilities of the female form and the construction of couture-worthy knitwear.

Nascimento has been working with knits for the better part of his life--he learned to hand knit as a kid and focused his schooling at LCF on finding new ways to use the fabric. Graduating in 2008, Nascimento creations have unique characteristics from both the back and the front, which also makes them good for walk-bys.

The Nascimento spring 2012 collection continues on this trajectory with heavy blacks contrasted by light grays and feminine pastels. Featuring all-natural knitwear, the collection has a very modern feel to it. Both structured and easy to cuddle up to.
