News__ Lucy McRae’s “Fat Monk”

Lucy McRae’s vision for “Fat Monk” is colorful, fun and very, very strange.

According to her website, Lucy McRae is a “body architect” who creates “structures that re-shape the human silhouette.” She’s already known for her body morphing, but now has created a strange and wonderful video for Australian band Rat vs Possum’s song “Fat Monk.” A kaleidoscope of pastels, hands, balloons and shadows, towards the end we get a sneak peak into how the video was made, as the camera cuts to wide-angle shots where we can see the dancers faces, the scale of the sets and the mechanical workings of the ever-present spinning wheel. This video is seriously choreographed and carefully detailed.
