News__ Topshop is Going Fast

June 21, 2010 | By

Ever since his body-con knitwear tore up the catwalk at London Fashion Week, Mark Fast's clothes have been something to covet. Lady Gaga agreed...but Fast refused to dress her saying of his clothes, "It's not fast-food fashion." Along with being known for NOT dressing a celebrity, Fast fearlessly used models of different body types way before the curve craze picked up speed. His reason wasn't gimmicky. Because of the innovative materials he uses in the knitwear, the relationship between the garment and the body that fills it out is part of the effect.

In July, the coveting can become a reality. For a hundred pounds or so, Topshop will be selling a 5 piece collection inspired by Fast's Spring/Summer '10 line. A thousand pounds off signature Mark Fast knit dresses? This is going to be better than Rodarte at Target. Some of the dresses are more daring than others and one of the black ones could be work as work clothes for a sartorially inclined dominatrix...but you get to wear Mark Fast. Gaga, who?
