Meadham Kirchoff s/s ’12 runway show provided for one of those WTF-am-I-dreaming kind of moments

As London Fashion Week-ers filed into the Meadham Kirchoff s/s '12 show--which was decorated as a kitschy prom with pastel balloons, streamers, and tinsel--Spice Girls “Wannabe” floated out on the speakers. Enter fourteen "Courtney Loves," in baby doll dresses with platinum mop hair and above-size zero figures. The "Courtneys" powder puff their faces and apply lipstick while Hole plays. Apparently Edward Meadham and Courtney are friends. The girls maniacally dancing and flailing in a can-can style, while models enter and exit in ornate platforms, pastel tights, cardigans and mini-dresses and skirts with checkers and cutesy decals.

The half-time show brought in a band of adorably uncoordinated child ballerinas in matching colorways, before a round of looks in more muted tones. Finally, a terrified-looking ballerina twirled on a faux birthday cake, and then it all ended. This is probably when Anna Wintour smiled.
