Mark McNairy's debuts his second womenswear collection at New York Fashion Week

Though it wasn't the lead song to Mark McNairy's spring/summer 2013 show, Kanye West's "Can't Tell Me Nothing" would have been fitting. The self-described McNasty designer makes his own rules, whether it's using his own daughter Daisy on the runway or in his designs that poke fun at trends.

Hyper aware of American culture, McNairy's "McNasty’s Rock & Roll Circus" had a war time feeling. The female models donned handkerchiefs tied in the 50's era fashion and army fatigue played a role throughout the collection appearing in nontraditional forms like as a see-through blouse. McNairy's social awareness came through in the form of an American hundred dollar print terry cloth blouse. The show's literal bang was when rapper Danny Brown in a gold lamé suit and cowboy hat, set off confetti guns as he helped closed the show. All of this, set to the backdrop of a McNasty sign lit up. It's a good thing you can't tell McNairy nothing.
