The new Ostwald Helgason s/s '12 collection is inspired by your to-do lists and bouquet from last Valentine’s Day

Fashion has a way of incorporating intelligent and creative uses for the otherwise mundane. Like your bulletin board for example. For s/s '12 the London-based designers Susan Ostwald and Ingvar Helgason crafted supreme elegance using real materials like cork and real flowers. The duo created a cork tunic, a bomber jacket, and a backpack. It’s not a floral print that references flowers, those are real dried hydrangeas pasted onto beautiful cotton and linen.

For s/s '12, Ostwald and Helgason also incorporated pops of bright-colored accents on trims, frayed cotton, woody-looking linen, and shiny black pleather. We’re digging the modern and sleekly tailored collection that is sophisticated and wearable, with fun corky details. But you wouldn’t want to be posting your to-do lists with thumbtacks on these things.

Here are our favorite looks from Ostwald Helgason s/s ’12 below.
