News__ Peter Jensen Spring ’11

September 13, 2010 | By

Oh Peter Jensen, you really float our boat. The ever quirky and eclectic Danish designer known for impeccably tailored pieces tinged with both humor and an overt sense of celebration, showed last night at Milk Studios. His muse? The incomparable Shelley Duvall.

Most recognized for her roles as Olive Oyl in Popeye and Jack Nicholson's tortured wife in The Shining, Duvall embodies the sense of seventies glamor and her unique mix of awkward chic inspired a playful collection in true Peter Jensen form. Some of our faves from this colorful evening included a yellow hooded raincoat, a navy fringed jacket and a fuchsia suit paired with a double heart belt. Cute, eccentric and totally wearable.

Thumbs up on hair and makeup, all the gals were brunette (some wigs) with parted fringe bangs and crazy long lashes on top and bottom, and the shoes, tall, chunky, lace-up's in vibrant hues. A varied crowd from the posh and persnickety to old over-tanned, bleach blond "faux"cialites to downtown dwellers made for excellent people watching. Fun show, great clothes. We're officially fans.
