Pablo lives on Had Pablo Picasso been hired by Vogue, this is what his editorials would have looked like. Drawing inspiration from the illustrious Spanish artist, photographer Eugenio Recuenco reimagines Picasso’s painted damsels as haute-couture models. Known as the grandfather of the cubist movement, Picasso was recognized for his ability to deconstruct his subjects into shapes and colors. Recuenco does the same, mimicking the lines and patterns of the paintings, but reinterpreting them with high-end digs, geometric hairstyles, and exaggerated makeup. Using hazy filters and cut-and-paste backgrounds, Recuenco nails that weird, nightmarish appeal of Picasso’s works. See more of Eugenio Recuenco’s Picasso inspired series below.
