New Zealand’s Princess Chelsea is a bad influence

Princess Chelsea (aka Chelsea Nikkel), New Zealand’s newest indie-pop star, has a new video called “The Cigarette Duet,” featuring Jonathan Bree from The Brunettes on guitar and vocals. The two sing about the dangers (or lack thereof) associated with smoking. Using a broken Roland E-20 keyboard, reverb-soaked guitar, and mid-tempo drums, Nikkel and Bree created a song that reminds us of the gems that were Lee Hazelwood and Nancy Sinatra duets. Besides sharing the warmth in the hot tub, Bree also directed this 50s-style video.
