Most people haven’t heard of Puerto Escondido because they are too busy hearing about Cancun and Acapulco…and for good reason. This tiny town off the coast of the Pacific isn’t really your tourist destination, unless you are a surfer. Puerto’s most popular beach, Playa Zicatela is known as one of the best beach breaks in the world so if you’re headed in the direction make sure you can swim! See more of Lynnette Astaire's photos of Puerto Escondido below. Never trust the highway signs in Mexico. Never. Watching the waves at Zicatela, also known as the Mexican Pipeline. Kodak Lives…in el centro! Was excited to find this wonderful street art off the beaten path in downtown Puerto.

Grand opening, grand closing….who builds a shark themed restaurant at a surf beach?! Memorials for the fallen surfers. Ones man’s junk is another man’s treasure. The swell has arrived!!!! And so have the photographers.

Just in case.

Catching the morning session behind a cup of coffee.

Some of Puerto’s finest. Although the court is empty soccer is still over surfing…this is still Mexico! Home to some of the most beautiful sunsets in the world. Read Lynnette Astaire’s first, second, third and fourth guest posts.
