News__ Ruby Summer 10/11

It's no secret that we've been lusting after Australian fashion ever since this year's Rosemount Australian Fashion Week came to a close in early May (proof, proof and more proof!). Meanwhile, New Zealand is busy planning their fashion week for September and if Ruby's Summer 10/11 collection is any indication, things are probably going to get steamy all over again. As promised by designer Deanna Didovich, "beautiful collisions of prints and colours are a consistent feature of the label" and this season the collisions include sequins, polka dots, leopard print and a dizzy houndstooth. Despite what it sounds like, the effect isn't overwhelming and somehow remains delicate and subtle. They are wearable pieces for dressing up and dressing down. From the "pac man pant" to "pebbles tank" and "elroy sweatshirt" the line is cartoon-themed but not in a Jeremy Scott cartoony way. It's just a hint of childish influence that tints the collection with nostalgia.

Check out the rest of the collection here.
