News__ Ryan McGinley’s New Book
Ryan Mcginley's first major monograph
In 2000, after showing in an abandoned SoHo gallery, one of the handmade books Ryan Mcginley created for the show made its way into the hands of Sylvia Wolf, then a curator of photography at the Whitney Museum of American Art. Three years later Ryan Mcginley was the youngest artist to ever have a solo show at the museum. Now, almost a decade later, Mcginley's career is being chronicled in its entirety in his first major monograph. In Ryan McGinley: Whistle for the Wind the photographer's work is considered by three extraordinary talents: Chris Kraus, John Kelsey and Gus Van Sant. Each, through their own lens, offer perspective on Mcginley's work.
Ryan Mcginley: Whistle for the Wind is available today via Rizzoli. See a preview of the book below.
