Every Saturday we select a photo from our Flickr pool and feature it right here

Jolan Kieschke is a 25-year-old self taught photographer who is living and studying in Hamburg, north of Germany close to the sea.

"What fascinates me is that a camera gives you the power to turn meaningless moments into something special," Jolan says of photography. "The second you press the shutter you change the moment."

The photo above was taken on a trip through Kyrgyzstan in October. After renting a car, they drove south to a city called Osh where they stayed in a huge house with impressive rooms and an entirely pink bathroom. "We were the only guests and I felt inspired by the emptiness."

Jolan's cameras of choice are her Yashica FR1 and her Leica AF C1 and Jolan mostly uses Luck film 200 from China. To see more of Jolan's work please check out her Tumblr, Flickr and site.
