Every Saturday we select a photo from our Flickr pool to be featured on hearty

Olivia Jaffe is a 21-year-old photographer born and raised in southern California, spending most of her formative years in the seaside oasis that is Manhattan Beach. Olivia is currently attending the prestigious Santa Monica College for photography, but says she has learned the most while actually working for various photographers, especially her mentor, Lauren Dukoff.

It was Lauren who introduced Olivia to her current obsession the Mamiya 645, which has  both a film and Polaroid back, allowing  you to know what the photos will look like before getting the film processed.  Olivia's other camera go-to is her aunt's old Pentax LX, which she used to take this picture above of Liam Sparkes, a tattoo artist based out of London, England. He gave Olivia her first tattoo.

As for current projects, Olivia has a series in the works inspired by fractals and the concept of self-similarity. Olivia says, "It's never-ending!"
To see more of Olivia's work, check out her website and her blog. You will not be disappointed.
