News__ Summer of Dye

June 04, 2010 | By

Brooklyn-based designer, Shabd Simon-Alexander, started dying her own fabrics to interact playfully with the rigidity of manufactured prints. Inspired by Hubble telescope photos of worlds being born and stars dying, she offers limited edition collections of dyed pieces under her line, Shabd, named after herself. Using quality natural fibers like luxurious silks and organic cottons and dyes each piece herself.

For Spring/Summer 2010 Shabd brings together, design, chance and chaos (you can't plan exactly how a tie dye will come out). The S/S '10 collection is the perfect set of summer dyes to wear to get out of the city, lie in open fields and watch the stars that inspired them.

See some of our favorites from the Sabd S/S '10 collection below. Summer of dye!
