Did you miss us while we were striking? Well, imagine what it will be like when the internet breaks
Yesterday, we blacked out hearty in support of the #SOPASTRIKE. This also meant we didn't have the opportunity to post about the cause so here it goes: On Jan 24th, Congress will vote to pass internet censorship in the Senate--PIPA in the Senate and SOPA in the House. In opposition of this bill, the internet went on strike, with large sites like Wikipedia, Wired and Google leading the way. 10s of millions of people took part in this movement, which ended being to being the largest online protest in history. Even though your Twitter and Facebook feed may have already given you a good understanding as to what is going, more education is always a good idea. For this we suggest visiting the SOPA Strike site, reading this piece on The New York Times and watching the TED Talks video below "Defend our freedom to share (or why SOPA is a bad idea)."
