After a four year hiatus--during which these New York babies of garage rock dated movie stars, made Christmas albums, did drugs and reinvented the denim jacket--The Strokes are back to music. The Strokes will be releasing their fourth studio album on March 22nd.

Coming back together after a few years of separation presented new challenges that couldn't be solved with a simple chug of whiskey. "We didn’t really break up but we didn’t see each other for a long time," said basisst Nikolai Fraiture. "When you get back together there was a lot of weird energy flowing around. There are different dynamics in the group in different ways.”

Fraiture also noted that this album will take listeners back to the bands "original sound"--pieces of Is This It molded together with the pleasant dysfunction of later tracks. "Sonically, I feel it’s the album which should have been made between Room On Fire and First Impressions Of Earth.
