Uncommon Creatures was created by Copenhagen based duo Christina Højris Ottosen and Jens Kold-Christensen. Christensen was on a subway ride to Brooklyn NY, when a striking Orthodox Jewish man in "snake curls and his huge black hat" stole the room subway car. Christensen stared at the man, who responded with a "yeah, I know" nod.

"I immediately started playing with the possibility of creating a fashion collection inspired by Orthodox Jewish style," says Christensen. "And here we are."

According to their website, Ottosen and Christensen describe the A/W '10 collection as "avant-garde and raw while keeping a high degree of simplicity." The pieces follow a dark and monochrome color scheme with shapes that could easily lend themselves to either gender. Check out our favorites from the collection posted after the jump.
