Modern romance with Samantha Pleet Samantha Pleet has us feeling all romantic for autumn/winter  2012, but in a poetic sense. While you may remember seeing the her collection on the runway here, Pleet has now given us a/w '12 lookbook form. Aptly named “Romantic Revival,” the collection comes jammed packed with florals, deep jewel-toned colors that look like they belong in a Keats poem, and Madonna-esque (the virgin, not the singer) halo hats. The dress heavy line reminds us of a time when there were muses for poets--especially because there’s a cape or two thrown in the mix--but the modern touch saves us from going back to a time when women strolled along European streets being called “my lady.”  We preferred to be called by our first names.
