Rachel Comey Does Swimwear

Tuesday, May 1st, 2012
Rachel Comey introduces swimwear just in time for summer swimming Rachel Comey is hopping into the water with you this summer. Launching their first ever swimwear collection, the line includes retro-inspired one-pieces and bikinis--one of which features a landscape collage print by Rosemarie Aubersen. With classy cuts (i.e. not too much booty) and subdued tones, this is the kind of swimwear we can see ourselves wearing on that yacht for our summer vacay (right). It will probably be more like when we hop on the A train to head out to Rockaway or when we finally find that friend with a pool in the city. Though, really wherever there is water, these Rachel Comey suits will work. See more from the Rachel Comey swimwear collection, which is now available now on their website, below.

ROUND-UP

"It Girl" collaborates with "It Brand." [Refinery 29] Remember when everyone and their cat was getting vajazzled? Well, if you're not so into the glittery, crystaled crotch look you can always "vatoo" your womanhood. "Vatooing" (or "twatooing") is exactly what the name alludes to: vagina tattooing, except the process is not permanent (the body paint stays on for seven days depending on "friction") and requires a total hair removal pre-vatoo. Visit Completely Bare in NYC for more details. [The Luxury Spot] Halle Berry is the first black woman to grace the cover of Vogue since Naomi did it in 1989. [Parlour] Where is the line between sexual assault and curiosity when the offenders are barely even pre-teens. Mary Elizabeth Williams analyzes. [Salon] A hilarious theory on "The Real Tampons of New Cray Cray." Rite Aid might be involved. [Everything is Annoying] Signal Gallery in East London hosts "Beyond Punk," an exhibition curated by former Adverts bassist, Gaye Black. The show also features work by Adam Ant and Chris Brief of The Briefs, Spizz of Spizzenergy and Knox, of the Vibrators. Watch the video. [Paper Mag]

Jo De Mer Swimsuits

Friday, December 4th, 2009
jo-de-mer-swimsuits Although bathing suits may be one of the last things on your mind right now--instead it's holidays, turkey and maybe even snow--seeing Jo De Mer's new suits may bring you back to that beach bum mood. These Brazillian suits not only look great but they come with a nice story. They were made by Amalia Spinardi an ex-fashion editor (who is also responsible for discovering models like Gisele Bundchen). Amalia got pregnant and took some time of work. The sabbatical allowed her the time to create these beauties. Available at colette, here are some of our favorites. jo-de-mer-swimsuits-2jo-de-mer-swimsuits-4jo-de-mer-swimsuits-3
