Beach House takes cue from 70's inter-dimensional travel in their new "Lazuli" video
Enter the (Hipster) Twilight Zone with Beach House’s new video for "Lazuli" off their recently released album Bloom. While the character driven opening of Lazuli’s video, especially the boy wandering gummo-esque around the chain link fence seemed promising, unfortunately the “other dimension,” neon-y colored 2 dimensional shapes, weird exorcist dance convulsions, and pink smoke theme, well, sucked. While the idea is nice, if we want to see horrible graphics representing the other dimensions and folding of space we’ll watch Dune. The song itself seems to be the saving grace, but then again we could always just play it from our iTunes.

This has been a pretty great month for indie music we've been long waiting for. Animal Collective just released two new songs, and now, everyone’s favorite oceanside-ice-cream-cone-summer-sun band, Beach House is sneak peaking their new work. The highly-anticipated follow-up album to Teen Dream, Bloom, is now available at NPR to stream in its entirety. It’s just as dreamy, nostalgic, and sun-tinged as we’ve been wishing for. Let the summer begin!
Beach house's Bloom will be officially released on Sub Pop May 15. For now listen to the album on NPR here.
A taste of the upcoming Beach House album
Beach house gives us a sample from their upcoming album, Bloom, with their new single “Lazuli.” The track has a dreamy chill pop feel, in typical Beach House fashion and leaves you glad they’re sticking to what they know. The trance-y dream world "Lazuli" places you in, feels like the wet dream you’d imagine obsessed Beach House fans had when they found out you can get your very own limited edition “Lazuli” 7” on blue vinyl April 21. Seeing as they're limited to 2400, you’re probably going to have to get up early. We know it's dream pop, but if you snooze, you loose.
Listen to Beach House "Lazuli" below. Bloom will be officially released may 15.
